(mix) Print a file list on Windows

Posted by José Lopes.

Printing a list of files with a Windows version may be difficult or almost impossible. If you are using Windows Explorer you can print screen the list of files, but if you have 1000 files you are lost.

The truth is that Windows doesn't have a tool to achieve it.

This post provides an easy way to print a list of files. I'll show how to print the list to a text file using the old DOS.

Imagine that you want the list of files of C:\MY_FILES to be printed to a text file called my_list.txt at C:\REPORT.

You just open a DOS prompt (go to Start, choose Run and type cmd) and write the following:

There you have!

You'll find the file my_list.txt at C:\REPORT with the list of the files from C:\MY_FILES.
